A Message from our Vicar
The Rev. Dr. Jacob David
Welcome to Trinity Episcopal Church in Rocky Hill, New Jersey.
We are a caring Christian Community of the Anglican tradition that offers an experience of the divine through scripture, sacraments, music and art. Trinity Church is a warm and welcoming community of faith grounded in the mission and ministry of Christ. We come from many backgrounds and perspectives, but we share two common commitments: to grow in our faith and to grow in our love and service to God and our neighbors. We profess that the way of abundant life is found in choosing to follow Jesus Christ with all that we are and all that we have. We use the resources of this community in pursuit of our spiritual growth. To that end, we give generously of ourselves and our wealth and invite others to share in what we enjoy. Fr. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kerala, India. He received a Master’s Degree in Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia and a PhD in Liturgics and Homiletics from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. Ordained a Deacon in 1984 and to the Priesthood in 1985 for the Diocese of Newark, Fr. Jacob served as the Vicar at the Church of the Resurrection in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He then became the Rector of St. Paul’s and Resurrection Church in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey. In 1998 Fr. Jacob received “The Priest of the Year Award” (Canterbury Scholar Award) from the Diocese of Newark. As part of this honor, he was sent to Canterbury, England for studies in Anglicanism. As an adjunct professor at Unification Theological Seminary in New York City, Fr. Jacob was appointed the Director of Field Studies and the Assistant Professor of Ministerial Studies and Homiletics. Most recently, he was the Priest Associate at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Cranbury, New Jersey. Fr. Jacob and his wife, Shanta, live in Dayton, New Jersey. They have two married daughters and grandchildren. He has published a collection of his musical compositions titled “Stairway to Grace”. To listen to Fr. Our History
"The Little Church with a Big Heart " has been worshiping in Rocky Hill since 1840. We take pride in our history. For almost two centuries, through good times and through difficult times, we have prayed and celebrated, laughed and cried - together.
We honor those who have gone before us. Without their faith, perseverance, and their loving hands, our church literally would not have been built. The History section of our website is dedicated, with gratitude, in their memory.
Our Vestry
The Vestry at Trinity Episcopal Church Rocky Hill is a dedicated group of people committed to the growth and health of our chruch. It might be helpful to give some context as to the responsibilities of the “vestry” and the “wardens”. According to the canons of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey the role is the vestry is as follows:

"It shall be the duty of the Wardens and Vestry members or members of the Mission Committee, under the Rector or Vicar, to protect the Church property, and to see that all things needed for the orderly worship of God, and for the administration of the Sacraments and Ordinances of the Church, be provided. It shall also be their duty to see that the funds of the Parish or Mission are expended properly, to provide for the maintenance of the Rector or Vicar . . .”

That’s a mouthful, but, in short, it means that we focus on how to preserve, maintain, and properly support our Trinity Episcopal Church Rocky Hill community, our buildings, our Church and our grounds. All the work we do on the vestry, we do in the love and spirit of our Episcopal faith.
